Fees and Funding

Childcare Vouchers

  • Childcare Vouchers can often be offered to you by your employer in addition to your salary but are more commonly offered as a “salary sacrifice”.
  • This means that you sacrifice a specific amount of your salary and receive that equivalent amount in childcare vouchers.
  • This means you will only pay Tax and NIC on the reduced level of your salary. Vouchers enable you to pay for childcare out of your pre tax and NI income.
  • The number of children you have does not impact the amount you receive; the limits are the same whether you’ve one child or more. Vouchers are not specific to each child and have a long expiry date.

Tax Free Childcare

  • You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).
  • If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.
  • You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 15 or 30 hours free childcare if you’re eligible for both.
  • For information on eligibility go to www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare

  • Children are entitled to up to 30 hours of early education funding each week for 3 terms each year. A length of the terms varies but the funding is available for a total of 38 weeks per year. At Petit Pembrokes this equates to either a full 10 hour day or 5 hour mornings and/or afternoons.
  • Once your first 15 or 30 hours have been accessed, the remainder of your day care fees (additional services) will be charged as per our price list.
  • From April 2024, existing funding will be expanding;
  • From April 2024, eligible working parents of 2-year-olds will be able to access 15 hours childcare support. From September 2024, 15 hours childcare support will be extended to eligible working parents of children from the age of 9 months to 3-year-olds. From September 2025, eligible working parents of children under the age of 5 will be entitled to 30 hours of childcare a week.
